If your daily homemaking routine takes more than fifteen conscious minutes, you're doing it wrong. Seriously, homemaking is not a focus for life. It's a means to an end - you want cozy moments with your loved ones, exciting adventures, and special days that linger in your memory. You definitely don't want to spend your time scrubbing the tub while your kids scream.
If you seriously grok the principles in this four-step daily routine, you'll be liberated. You'll be able to use all of your newfound time to live the life you most want to live. Knock these suckers out of the park (and lose your old methods in the dust) and you'll find that you've become a sort of gosh-darned slacker housekeeping genius.
This is a simple, four-step routine that is unlike any routine that you’ve ever seen. Forget traditional methods of house keeping, this actually works - by solving long-term problems and preventing burnout. Plus it is, as described, very gentle. It’s all about self care.

Permaculture Plus Houskeeping Daily House Cleaning Routine
I can't start my day without a lotta bit of coffee.
- Make a note of one process/object/behavior relationship and jot it down. (See also the Permaculture Plus Houskeeping Design Process.)
- Carry over and complete any new habits that you are trying to form.
- Get rid of an object in your home via re-gifting, donating, recycling, composting, or discarding.
- Select an item that has no defined “home,” select a home for it, place it there, and affix a label to that spot as a reminder.
- Design a new micro-habit that you’d like to put into effect, and schedule a time to launch it.
- Note how very little of this has to do with strenuous bouts of binge cleaning.
Everything you know about time management is wrong. The news is better than you might think.
